Second, My Documents opening at the launch of Explorer is commonly caused by malware, or you have a bad link in your Run key, or Startup folder. Check for viruses, spyware and your startups. Any more info you will need to post what OS you have, including architecture and Service Pack. Thanks for your rapid response. I use WindowsXP and Cox Cable. The antivirus and antispyware programs are all in place. I also use Microsoft's automatic update. So, I have no idea regarding the service pack or the architecture. You can see I am not well versed in how the computer works. I do appreciate your help very much.

I have just discovered a new annoying problem. Whenever I start my computer, right after the desktop icons show up, I would get a list of my documents. I do not want to start with my documents. I wonder this new problem is the result of some recent Microsoft automatic updating. Is there anyway that I can get rid of this annoying problem? Thanks.
