I am trying to connect a Bluetooth headset to my Windows 7 pc. I would like to use the headset to talk with My Magicjack phone. Everything seems to have gone OK installing it but it won't connect. Windows does not see the headset. The only problem I can find is it says that in the Network Map that the adapter is not connected. I can't find any way of connecting it. Any suggestions? Thanks

FYI...I tried to print something for the 1st time since this problem started. Lexmark printing software said I needed .NET 2.0. So I put the printer installation disc in to see what would happen. It successfully installed .NET 2.0. So I then went to Windows Update, and it further updated .NET Framework. So, all is now well. .NET Framework is installed and my printer works. I have no idea why it would install this way not the others I've tried but it works. Again. I want to thank everyone for their efforts. It's very comforting to know there are people like you out there to help when people like me end up backed into a corner computer wise.

Does that mean to delete each .NET entry I can find?

To: Strel & Iamtheky I give up. It just doesn't want to get fixed in my computer. I don't know what else to do so Thanks for all the help. I'm probably going to update to Windows 7 next month so all should be well then. If I stay with XP, it may just be time to do a reinstall. On secondthought, XP has been very good. i think I'll stick with it It does everything I need. So thanks again. Rubby1

I am still working on the last 2 replys. But in the meantime, it seems that when I try to reinstall NET Framework 1.1 SP1 it has already been downloaded and each time it is trying to use the same update for the installation. I am wondering if that original WU download may be corrupted. Is there a way to remove that download so when I go back to Windows Update it will actually re-download new files?? If you think this is worth a try, how would I remove those files??

When I look in "%SYSTEMROOT%\Installer folder" there are many .msi's. Don't know which or what to look for there. Also, when I look in "msiexec /x %SYSTEMROOT%\Installer\thatfile.msi" it asks if I want to run the uninstaller. Do I want to?

Last Msi log listed: MSId3bad.LOG is as follows. Error 1704. An installation for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes? Next to last log if it helps is: Internal Error 2755. 1601, C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP000.TMP\netfx.msi === Logging stopped: 9/14/2009 14:16:07 === There are a couple more MSI logs it they will help.

Registration Correctiona Tool ran successfully. Do I try to reinstall NET Framework now? Do I start with NET 1.0 and follow after with 2.0 and then 3.5 or just let Windows Update give me what I need?

No Install location is listed. 2nd " " --the Display Name is: Hotfix for Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (KB958484). No Install location is listed. 3rd " " --the Display Name is: Update for Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (KB963707). No Install location is listed. Is there a way to attach a screen shot??

OK...Tried it and it said that the Installation could not be opened. Just to double check, I put "msiexec /x", then a space, and then copied key name and pasted it without adding {}. By the way, it first said, "are you sure you want to uninstall this product?" I clicked yes and then it said it could not be opened, contact the vendor. Any suggestions??

To Iamtheky, I am unable to copy and paste the actual string. When I click on it, it won't highlight. The Edit menu only lets me copy the "key name". When I copy and paste that, all it does is paste the location with the KB# but not the actual uninstall string. Also, the last instruction from your previous reply which was, "*again, if its a /i that will usually be the repair/remove dialog, use /x for the straight uninstall dialog", I don't entirely understand. I didn't see /i or /x in the string itself, the part the wouldn't allow me to copy and paste. Thanks for the help Rubby1

I found 3 seperate folders with "display names" that refer to NET Framework 3.5 with uninstall strings. Should I put the uninstall string for each one into a cmd window? There is also a folder that refers to an icon for NET Framework. Do I need to be concerned with that or leave it alone?

Sorry but I have no idea what to do with Iamtheky's response.
