hi, i have used nlite in the past, but in a few days my 1005ha eee pc will come, and i just want it to be as slick as possible! so for that reason, i'm removing stuff. i'm under the impression that removing most things just make the iso smaller, but is it really only remving services that actually make the os run faster? since if removing drivers that i won't need will make it faster, than this is what i will do. i saw some some site, and a guy said he remvoed all of his drivers (i assume he slipped his eee pc drivers in instead). if i remove ALL drivers, and do not install my eee pc ones via nlite, will my computer actually work, will it let me log on and install my own drivers as normal? also, i thought that whenever i put in a flash drive/dvd drive etc that is new, xp hunts down a driver for it? does that mean flash drives won't work if i remove ALL drivers? (i doubt eee pc has specific flash card drivers) i thought this was 'plug and play' when you didn't 'need' drivers, it just works, or is plug and play when it finds the driver for you? basically, is it a good idea to only install my asus drivers, and will i lose anything, and would i gain speed performance (i'm not interested in hard drive space) thank you so much, sorry, i find it hard to condense information! josh. p.s. i do not want an unattended install, but does this mean i can't use the option to slip in a custom msstyles and theme? thanks.
