  1. he didn't give me too much information, i assumed it was a retail disk, i saw it today (it was), and nlited it! just waiting for the eee pc now! no mail delivered on sunday. thank you!
  2. thank you once again for your help and fast relplies! i did not download it, it my step-brother's cd and his eee pc, i have no idea about japanese to begin with, just he isn't that great at english! not that i was 'lying' in my first post, just i don't think it is necessary to explain every little detail, i didn't think it would be relevant. if i am not supposed to nlite his cd for him, then i will just tell him what to do. it may be nlited, but i doubt it, i do not have the cd at this house, but i will check, and based on that i will/will not nlite it. but anyway, i got my information, i shouldn't have to prove anything, but i do understand that you don't want microsoft (or anyone) thinking that nlite is being used illegally. thank you.
  3. i wouldn't download anything illegal, don't worry! thank you for all your help! i can finally proceed with my custom xp! -edit. so this disk i have may not be legit? is there anyway to check if it has been made with nlite, or simpler (kind of), can/could people buy xp disks with sp3 in them? if not, then this says that my disk is not to be used... sorry if i shouldn't be speaking about this, just want to make sure.
  4. hey thanks, well i'll try it, seeing as i don't have a completly 'raw' japanese xp cd lying around. it did help, thanks!
  5. hey thanks for the super speedy reply! yeah ok, i'll just stick to services then that black viper site is verrry useful! thanks alot. oh and sorry, you couldn't just help me with these could you (i don't want to make a new thread, well, i'm not sure i'm supposed to) i do not want an unattended install, but does this mean i can't use the option to slip in a custom msstyles and theme? and the cd i am using has sp3 already in it, i'm not sure if this was added via nlite, but, am i still 'allowed' to use nlite on vista and edit it, since i read that vista and windows 7 have trouble when you slip sp3 into it, but is everything ok if it is in already? -i also have xp to use nlite with, just vista is on my main pc. thank you!
  6. hi, i have used nlite in the past, but in a few days my 1005ha eee pc will come, and i just want it to be as slick as possible! so for that reason, i'm removing stuff. i'm under the impression that removing most things just make the iso smaller, but is it really only remving services that actually make the os run faster? since if removing drivers that i won't need will make it faster, than this is what i will do. i saw some some site, and a guy said he remvoed all of his drivers (i assume he slipped his eee pc drivers in instead). if i remove ALL drivers, and do not install my eee pc ones via nlite, will my computer actually work, will it let me log on and install my own drivers as normal? also, i thought that whenever i put in a flash drive/dvd drive etc that is new, xp hunts down a driver for it? does that mean flash drives won't work if i remove ALL drivers? (i doubt eee pc has specific flash card drivers) i thought this was 'plug and play' when you didn't 'need' drivers, it just works, or is plug and play when it finds the driver for you? basically, is it a good idea to only install my asus drivers, and will i lose anything, and would i gain speed performance (i'm not interested in hard drive space) thank you so much, sorry, i find it hard to condense information! josh. p.s. i do not want an unattended install, but does this mean i can't use the option to slip in a custom msstyles and theme? thanks.
