well the cd works in all my other hardware. Ill try swapping the drive . But i have read on this forum after posting my issue and some other places that I need to slipstream a disc with the textmode drivers for this type of motherboard. A8AE-LE Motherboard. I figure thats why the machine stops with this error after the scsi options.. If anyone knows where i can get thieses drivers please let me know i can really use the help.

everytime i run my install disc of windows xp i seem to end up getting an error when i try doing a clean install, the error i get each time is "ohcil1394.sys" funny thing is thhat when i take the same disc and put it in one of my laptops or other hardware it runs fine and i get alll the way to where u format the disc and install the actual os so the disc works , but i cant seem to get it to work on my compaq presario sr1802hm. If anyone can give me some info on how to get my O/S installed. or point me in the right direction to someone who has had a similar issue. I think its something to do with the ide setup, the bis doesnt have any option to change from pata/sata to ide. so i think this is my issue. I basically wanted to create a slipstreamed disc with the files for the ide and all that already on it since the hardware has no floppy drive any any anyyyyy assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated here is the board on my pc http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...cname=c00496280 I think I need the sata drivers for this board to successfully install windows xp over again
