this power edge 1950 server from dell. comes with 2003 works very nice. i like it. Now i have to put XP on it. Has anyone on this forum tried installing XP on this server? I tried the search function didnt find much of anything. Anyhows, this thing has a SAS controller. its a SAS 6/iR controller. When i had it on 2003 i had it as raid 0 as just one huge drive. now i wanna put XP on it. i found the LSI card controller drivers. Put them in, and I could see the hard disks in the system. it even lets me format fine, but when i think it looks like its switching to install files, it asks for this component: LSI Logic PCI Fusion-MPT Miniport Now i tried to do a script to incorporate all these files using the $OEM$ folder method on a cd. Thing is, i think I found a driver for this other new device but all I can find it is on an Asus site?? On top of that... Both zip files have the EXACT same named files like ____.sys and ____.ini so if I changed the names.. I would probably have to edit everything in the files too.. and wow what a pain Has anyone ever put XP on a dell 1950 server? any help greatly appreciated
