  1. What a pity that your sites do not have an RSS. I really had only single one among dozens of projects that I keep an eye on until now that I had to visit manually to check is it still alive and whether it has some news. Yours is second. That is sad. Though, surely, I understand the reasons.

But for me, really, this is the first request except XPize 5 itself, of course.

Good luck in all your deals!

  2. Hey, guys, seems like you've abandoned this part of title page.

There is no IE8, no Office 2007 SPs, no Vista SP2, DirectX is oudated too... Would you be so kind to update it?

And, besides, there is no consistency in their naming and showing. There are two SPs for XP, named differently, and only last one for 2000. I personally from time to time need earlier ones for 2000, and it would be very useful to have them all listed.

  3. you think you knew everything.

    first, bootskin doesnt patch ntoskrnl

second, it uses vidstub.sys to load the bootscreen before ntoskrnl loads as a service

third, if the files are deleted e.g. vidstub.sys or the bootskin.ini is deleted, the vidstub.sys will close thus letting the ntoskrnl show on sturtup.

Where did you see that I told it DOES patch?

    I know that it doesn't.

I warned people because I and my friends REALLY experienced problems after applying some of the bootscreens (not every one, actually). And since this forum filled with, let's say so, not very experienced in recovering windows people, I felt it would worth to warn about it.

  4. The fact of the matter is that no party can change a license agreement solely because they don't like it.

    ....

I also seem to think there's a language barrier somewhere in here (him not having english as a first language or not grasping it properly).

Is there some ending to this story or is it still lasts?

In fact, I think that this 'monohouse' guy just took 'gdogg''s project, changed THE LICENSE in it he didn't like and let people to download it from his site. Isn't this stupid? That's the same as if I took XP ISO, change the agreement text, saying, "Oh, fu** all the rules, let's live freely! Just use this code below to go through this annoying code request and forget about the authors, who suck anyway, and this pile of s*** suck even more!" and let people dowload it, saying, that if people like MS's license, they will obey it, and if the choose mine - what the hell, it was their choice, wasn't it?

My guess is 'monohouse' is stupid cheeky moron, who doesn't respect other's work and just goes and take it and says that it is now changed the way HE likes it. Dumb as*****. I hope your 'lawiers' you heavy on so much will charge you for a million bucks for a simple reason there's no paper saying they can't do it.

And if there was any language barrier, I guess this broken mind would behave quieter and asked first, whether he's right and understood everything correctly. There's no any barrier. I see only the guy who doesn't give a s*** to any of common rules and has no common sense in his head.

  5. what driver version are you using?

this is the latest one for that card, although it is 3 yrs old...

if that doesnt work then try changing the audio hardware acceleration.

    Thanks for tips.

Yes, the stated version is the same that is available on C-Media site. Though, the one from driverpack is dated 2004 and numbered as 45, when that "official" one is 39. I tried it, it doesn't help either, and I don't see any noticeable difference in work, anyway.

Reducing and even turning off harware acceleration was the first thing I tried. The game still crashes with any value I try, and only turning off the sound device helps...

  6. I don't remember when it's started, but for a long time I can't play my NFS MW.

Just as I start it and it passes all starting movies and tries to load game interface, it just exits to the desktop, saying nothing why it happens. After a lot of reinstallations I found, that it I disable the on-board sound, game loads successfully. But it's not a solution, I want to hear the roaring of engines and so! :-)

I didn't find anyone having the same problem, but found a lot of ones who have troubles with other games when having NF2 with on-board sound. The common solution suggested is to turn on 98-ME compatibility mode. It didn't work for me.

Maybe someone of you guys would be able to help here? Anyway, thanks to all who answer!

I guess, this info will be helpful:

  7. When submitting news I encountered a problem with inserting html link button.

I am not familiar, unfortunately, with html tags, so it's not very, but a bit difficult for me to manually edit it.

I use Opera 9 TP1. (I checked also in IE)

When I press the "http://" button, it suggests me to insert the description and then - "email address" ... When I insert the link... Nothing happens. Nothing appears.

  8. Hi again!

The problem with converting 6 CDs into one DVD is solved, thanks to MSFN. :hello:

The next stage is begun :)

I'd like the game to be installed already of the latest version.

As I see, the patch is a simple sfx-zipped pack of files with the same directory structure as the game ISO.

But - simple extracting files from patch over the existing files in ISO doesn't work.

    Launching setup.exe starts... patch installation.

    After replacing files the game itself isn't able to be installed at all. :}

So - does anyone know the way to solve it?

It shouldn't be too difficult, as for me...

    Thanks in advance! B)

  9. Yeah, the game is really scary...

After this and The Ring I begin to be afraid of the little girls with dark long hair ;)

The graphics is really good, and physics too.

Well, I like it, I want it, but HUGE upgrade is needed.

  10. if he did what i first said, then the whole thing would work perfectly...

well, i guess some people are lazier than usual ;), no offence to him btw

What's the sense of writing a DVD if I stiill have to sit and change disks? Well, not CDs, but ISOs, in that case? Maybe I am too lazy, you're right.

But, well, the problem is solved.

I used the method ripken204 suggested in the beginning, named the ISO the same as the first CD was named - UT2004_CD1, and voila - it installed and launched smoothly! :thumbup

The way he suggested is exactly the same as in guide Bas gave the link to. Thank you VERY much, pal, the site is wonderful! Will make the DooM3 DVD tomorrow! :w00t:

    So, thanks everyone, topic closed!

  11. There are differnt patches for each version (I.E. CD version and the DVD version, so make sure YOU get the CD VERSION of a patch)... now... if u give me the CD version of Setup.exe(root of the disc) ut2004.exe, setup.exe (under the CD-ROM Drive:\CD1\System\)... PM for my email...

No, there are no different patches for CD and DVD version.

I attach my version of Setup.exe, which is from CD.

    The error message is

    UT2004 Build UT2004_Build_[2004-03-03_02.42]

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD PentiumPro-class processor @ 2207 MHz with 511MB RAM
    Video: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X (7189)

and it appears right after the splash image is shown.

Tried installing from my 6 CDs once more. Flawless.

    Any ideas?

    Setup.rar

  12. i could compare them

    Please, if no difficult.

And if they're different, could you send or share through rapidshare.de or similar service the DVD's Setup.exe?

    Thank you in advance.

im wondering if the dvd will only accept a dvd key and if a cd will only allow a cd key

    We'll see, let's try :o)

what do u mean it doesnt run? could be that it need the cd? or is this the game where they made a patch that doesnt require the cd?

It starts and instantly exits with an error, not even showing the startup logo.

It doesn't need the CD, cause I use no-cd patch, if I install original version. The latest patches from creators make game don't require the source to be installed in drive. It was so since Unreal Tournament of '99.
