  1. Thanks, I'll format the DVD and reburn it after modifying the automation to skip OOBE. If I don't post back, then it worked.
  2. Alright, I am automating an XP MCE SP2 install with drivers for the laptop, and a default user, CD key, etc. However, I keep getting that stupid blue "welcome to Windows" screen that tries to connect to the network, allows you to create a user, and asks you to register with Microsoft. How the heck do I bypass that? I already created my user in the answer-file, and I can't get past the user creation section since it requires me to create a user, even though I specified one in the automation part. I have set the automated mode to "Fully Automated". Ideas?
  3. I didn't know /? or -help worked on setup files. I assume the same goes for SP3? If that's the case, I'll be golden!
  4. So nobody knows how to do this? That's amazing. How about this. Can somebody tell me how to install MP10 from a batch file without user interaction? I could make a batch file that will install MP10, then SP3, then reboot the system. The thing is, I'd still have about thirty updates to install afterwards and I am not sure how to handle that. For now though, how about the unattended switches for MP10 and SP3?
  5. hate to chime in here, but if what he is saying is true, he has to do SP2 or SP1 before SP3. I am in that boat as well. I have an original release of XP Home and XP Pro. If you try installing SP3 without at least SP1 installed, SP3 won't install. It even mentions this fact on the Microsoft site. SP2 however, does not require SP1. SP3 requires SP2 or SP1, simple as that.
  6. Alright, I have an XP MCE 2005 SP2 DVD. I want to automate the installation of this, integrate drivers, install MP10, upgrade to SP3, and install .NET 3.5. My problem is this. If I install SP3 during the nLite phase of things, MP10 won't install after the OS is installed! I believe that I need to create a DVD that will install MCE SP2 with my drivers and such, then install MP10, then install SP3, then install .NET 3.5 and a pile of patches for the OS. The thing is, I am not sure how to handle this situation. I can integrate SP3 with nLite and use Media Center fine and all (have to replace 3 files after SP3 upgrade is done if I do it with nLite or I get XP Pro) so i know how to do it if needed, but how can I get MP10 if I do it this way? I do *NOT* want that broken piece of junk, MP11 on my systems. It only works with one of the seven portable music devices I have tested with it, and it broke one to the point of sending it off for repair. Thanks for any help you can offer.
  7. Is it possible to just have nLite run the installer silently after the system is up? I thought that there was a way to run a program after XP is installed but before the user logs in. That's really all I need to do. If not, I'll try to parse out those batch files and deal with them, but I'm a C++ guy myself, and haven't played with batch files since DOS 6.22! Thanks again for your help.
  8. That's way too much overkill for me. I simply need to add the Creatvie X-Fi drivers and utilities. I also don't like Vista products (WMP11/IE7) on my XP systems, and I see them both in that post. I just need to know how to get the driver (or any installer) to run so I can use the system once Windows is installed. It would be nice to be able to install the .NET frameworks (1.0, 1.1, 2.0, and 3.5) as well, but if not that is OK. Thanks for the information and all, but it's WAY too much for my needs.
  9. I'm working on a custom XP Pro x64 CD for my BTX gaming rig (home-brew machine) and may have hit a roadblock. The Creative X-Fi drivers for my soundcard (Extreme Music) contain not only the core driver, but also software that is needed to use the card. How can I slipstream these into the CD? I have added SP2 for x64 and every update since then, and I even added the Intel ProSet and nVidia drivers, but this has me at a loss.
