I set up the network through Network setup. Do you want me to go through the steps? The network appears to be working except for the read only issue. I can open the files on another computer, they even show the read only box unselected in the properties. But when I open the file, it only opens as a read only file.

I have xp home on 5 computers with peer to peer sharing. I just had to re format one on the systems, and when I got it back running, the files on it come up read only when I open them from another computer. How can I edit them from another computer. I have tried changing the attributes on the reloaded computer. When I do the green square disappears in the read only attribute box, but then reappears when I go back into that window to check.
