Assuming one domain controller, the change should be immediate. Only one DC. It says wrong password or username. I have a DC and when I try to remotely it says I am not a part of the remote desktop group, but when I try to add my self...It says I'm already a member of the group. How can this be? It seems to accept the username and pass at this point though. On the TS when I try to login...It says invalid username and password. But it can see the users/groups on the DC just fine. Any ideas?

Awesome. Okay, so say I have 50 some users. Can I create a group called, "TS Server Users" on the DC and push it to the TS and have some sort of alias set up that way. This would make it so only the DC would contain users and all modifications could be done there. Is there an easier way to do with with say group policy or some such mechanism? Negative. They are on two different servers. I think I found my problem....Maybe not. So I noticed that on the SRV02(the AD/DNS/DC) machine that I was a member of remote desktop users, and I thought this "trickled"down to SRV03 (The TS machine) because they were in the same domain, am I wrong on that? My previous error went away, but now it says wrong usernme and password. I reset the password on the DC, once again, this should trickle down...correct? My username isn't found in the local user and groups part of the admin panel, this isn't surprising to me, but should it be?

Good Morning All, I'm looking for a guide that generally guides me through the process of taking a network from p2p to Domain/AD/TS type of setup. I have the domain and TS/AD/DNS/DHCP installed, but I'm really getting hung up on the AD/TS side of it. Right now I have a domain user that can't login into the TS. I have added them on the AD machine to the group "Remote Desktop Users" as instructed by the TS server, but when I check he TS server that group doesn't exist. Do I need to set something else up to that it pulls from the AD automatically? Thanks, NOah

Their disc doesn't work for my particular model. It works for the 1435, however. I just installed windows xp and then installed inside of that. That seemed to work fine. On the next system I'll try different install media, as when I tried to open up the disc in windows xp on my workstation it wouldn't open. Thanks for the ideas!

Good Morning All, I'm trying to load Windows 2008 Server on an SC1425. I've tried using the boot disk that dell provides (They don't support 2008), and selecting 2003. I've tried just loading the disc straight without using the open management. I know it is possible, because I've read about people using 2008 on their SC1425's on the net. When I try to load either x86 or x64 versions they both hang. I get the screen that says, "Install Windows"... Then I get the screen that says, enter serial number. I say I'll enter it later, and then I get the screen that says select type to install and check that you are going to use this type. I do that and when I click next it just hangs there. Could this be a driver issue? I'm going to load all the dell x64 drivers onto a slipstream disk. Will this fix it maybe? Also, my other thought it try loading it from the hard drive. Would this do any good? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

I'm trying to get this to work and I'm having some issues. Here are the steps that I'm doing... 1. Formatting a 1gig Crucial USB drive using the HP tool from inside winSetupFromUSB 2. Load the source and select the disk and hit go. 4. Boot up and select the first boot 3 When I do this I get the following error after I boot up: "Windows Could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem. Could not read for the selected boot disk" Is this because I recently deleted all the partitions using a linux boot disk? Do I need to recreate a fat partition? UPDATE I am not back to getting the hal.dll after formating the partition as NTFS. I will try what is suggested in other form posts. I found this: "Does partition number as shown on partition screen at Text mode match partition(X) in BOOT.INI?" How do I get to the partition screen at the textmode? Do I have to restart each time It gets through a stage? I believe I have it fixed!
