@jrzycrim thank you so much, i'm testing it now.. if that was it i'm gonna kick myself in the *** @prathapml well, it's not just the animation, the rest of the oobe screens follow.. hopefully the missing letter will take care of it.. edit: woohoo, no welcome screen thank you guys so much, now, to figure out if all my programs installed correctly....

thanks for the fast reply, but that wasn't it(already tested it...)... any other ideas? i have several registry tweaks, but i don't see how they would affect the auto-update or oobe settings(none related to either, other than setting up a user)... well, thanks again, it was worth a shot, but no luck
