  1. Thanks for the reply. I did try that though. But I can now say yea! Because I used a program from this web sight. I don't remembor the name at this time and right now I am on another computer other than the one I installed the solution (program) on so I cant read the program name icon. I will post it though. It worked great! I used another computer that could read the original store bought os system disk and copied them to my thumb drive. I ran this un-known program and it asked me for my source os system so of course I directed it towards the thumb drive. This program reconized the os and displayed all the details about it. Than after that it built an iso. file. I used Nero 9 to burn this to a dvd, turned my compute off and back on again. The computer booted on this newly created disc and loaded xp pro 64 just like this disc was my original. Now why didn't my original do that. I realy don't care. Thanks to the software creator, again I will get the name and post this very helpful program.
  2. I installed vista and I have some software I can not use now. Since I installed vista the dvd/cd drive will not reconize any xp discs. Like the xp os installation cd. This is the store bought disc I used to install originally. I try to boot on the cd and it comes back with please direct to a proper bootable source. I even bought a new hard drive and unpluged the old one with vista load on it (sata) and I still recieve the same info. vista is ok if you want to stay with it but it has been like a virus and wont let me go back. Even by trying to boot on the bootable instalation disc for xp. It dose not reconize the disc. hum? I would like to have a hard drive with vista and another hard drive with xp, now soon a hard drive with windows 7. It would be nice to unplug a hard drive and plug in the hard drive with the os I would like to use. In the past I did the multiple boot with os 98 and os xp but ran into some problems. So the multiple hard drive solution worked great. But again since the instal of vista no bootable xp cd os is reconizeable. Any one have any ideas?
