The link above is the "Halfdone Unknown Devices" list for my laptop, which should list all my computer's devices. Currently when I try to install XP Pro (32-bit) on my computer I hit a BSOD a couple minutes into the process. It may be AHCI-related, but I'm new to this, so before I flip BIOS settings or install new SATA drivers I was hoping to get some expert opinions. My ICH
Can anyone tell me what's going wrong, and how to get around it so I can get XP running?
If it matters, the exact model is a Toshiba Satellite M300 PSMDCC-03C00Q (I'm pretty sure it's a Futureshop-exclusive model that's basically an 03400Q, but it was a gift, so I'm not exactly sure.) I've made recovery disks in case of disaster, and it has a hidden recovery partition on the HDD (hopefully that is not what is causing XP's installer to hang).

Slightly more info, if helpful: the chipset is intel's PM45 Express (http://www.intel.com/Products/Notebook/Chipsets/PM45/PM45-overview.htm)
