  1. well, i fixed my own issue! to be honest, there are not any guides out there for installing vlite, at least no good ones i could find. getting the right wim file is not described anywhere... so initially i just searched my hard drive for "wim" after installing waik and copied all of the small files into my vlite install folder. i guess i got the wrong file or it was corrupted cause when I did it again, everything seems to be working now. I am integrating sp1 into my iso now and am really happy to be on my way to a vista eee pc... so for future reference, if google picks up this thread for anyone else in my situation, just try putting the right wim files into you vlite folder... which file of files those are, i am not sure. just search for all files with "wim" that are less than 1MB and put all of them into vlite. it should work. it worked for me.
  2. Hi, new here, new to vlite too. I just got an eee pc and i am trying to use vlite to slim vista down. I got to the part of vlite where you select the vista source dvd or hard drive location of files, and when i select the folder all of the dvd info is copied to, vlite reports "Error while getting info. - The parameter is incorrect." Not sure why this is happening, if i select the vista dvd itself, vlite copies the files to my hard drive and then reports the same error. Help? Thanks all. Forgot to mention, using vista 32 bit, premium home edition, and the dvd that came with my gateway laptop. I suspect the DVD is the problem, but I used it to make a usb flash drive full vista install and it worked fine, so I am at a loss. why do this at all? mostly because eee pc's don't have a lot of space as it is, so a few gigs can make a huge difference.
