  1. Please excuse my stupidity, but....... Why is there a 10 mb limit to attachments when you have a gig of space available? I though that with the 1 GB of storage space I would be able to exchange large attachments with others but this is not the case I guess.
  2. You can go onto Norton's site and in their help section they scan your install and help fix your problems. Have you tried that?
  3. Thanks.
  4. Yeah that is what I figured but I did not find anything there.
  5. I did that already and it still keeps popping up. Disabling in Internet Properties mad no difference at all.
  6. That would work for an application that you directly click on to open up, but what about something that you do not directly click on? For example, when I click on a video stored on my hard drive it opens with WMP9. I would like to up the priorty of WMP9. Is there a way to do this?
  7. How do I disable that stupid AutoComplete pop up? The thing keeps popping up all the time. I searched the forums and came up with nothing. I did a Google search and the only things I came up with were to disable it in "Internet Options". I did that in the Advanced and Content screens but it still keeps popping up. It is annoying as hell.
  8. Supposedly SP2's final release is supposed to have a better download manager with those options.

    Adobe 6.0 Question

Thanks. I should have searched first.
  10. Does anyone know if there is a way I can get my Adobe 6.0 Pro to stop creating a folder "My ebooks" in My Documents every time it starts? I looked around in the settings and did not see anything in there.
  11. OK thanks for the help. Now how and where do I use Tim's help?
  12. When I go into the "Windows Task Manager" by hitting CTRL-ALT-DEL there is "Processes" tab. In there it lists all the applications that are running. When I right click on an individual process a pop up menu appears and one of the options is set priority. Using the set priority menu I can raise or lower the priority of a single application. What I am trying to find out is if there is something (like a registry mod for example) I can do that will make the program start with the priority I want without having to go into the WTM and manually change it every time I start the program.
  13. I know I can go into the Task Manager and manually change the priority setting of an individual process. Is there a way I can make it so that the program/process will automatically start with the priority I want so I don't have to manually change it every time?

    Audio problems

I figured out the problem. I reloaded Wingdows and loaded everything one at a time. I use Earthlink for my ISP. Earthlink provides a "spyblocker" program with its toolbar. You can enable it to provide spyware alerts. If the alert feature is enabled it causes whatever media you are playing to freeze. Disable the alert feature and everything plays fine.

    Audio problems

Originally it did it only with Windows Media Player 9. I have used DivX Player, VLC Player, Zoom Player, and Intervideo. I do not care for Real Player so I do not use it or have it installed. The other players were fine, then it started doing it on with the different players also. I haven't tried to watch a DVD in a long time. I will try watching one later to see what happens.
  16. Is it MORE legal if you rob a bank with a legal licensed gun or an illegal unlicensed gun gun? Microsoft's answer would be that if you want to use the XP install disk on more than one computer you need to purchase an additional license for each computer.
  17. I have been having problems when playing any types of media. The computer will be playing it fine, and then it freezes for a short period of time and then resumes playing. When it resumes playing it has usually skipped forward slightly. I have tried different Codec packs and have not been able to resolve this issue. The funny thing is that everything worked fine for the longest time and then all of the sudden I can't play anything. I did not install something and then the problem was there. I am using a Toshiba Satellite notebook w/ XP Home, P4 2.4. On the Toshiba spec sheet it lists a "Crystal CS4299-A Codec chip" and that is about it. The unit is about a year and a half old. Is there any way to test the audio device? I have gone into the Device Manager and it says that everything is working fine.
  18. I got the same thing when I first go to the search screen. When I go to do a search it works fine though.
