  1. I searched on the net few hours on how to setup group policy and user home directory.. none of them work or didn't find any nice tutorial or articles. Here is my situation. My domain is matrix.com - its a intranet , testing environment I want to create Staff group and each DOMAIN user should have his own home direcotry, redirect my documens folder and I want to disable some features. I manged to do home direcotry by simply typing \\server\sharedrive\user\%username% it works.. but this is not the best practice since I can't limit users folder size or restrict features.. I've seen group policy has lot of nice things.. If anyone can give me any hints or links would be great. This is what I understood is the best policy 1) Create Organisatin Units - StafUnit 2) Create group under OU - Staff 3) Create users under Active directory 4) Add users to the group 5) Create group policy from OU 6) Under users configuration restrict whatever I want to .. But doesn't work... Regards
  2. Hi Guys, I got a Active direcotry, Domain Controller, DNS and DHCP server on machine 10.2.8.92. The domain is matrix.com I've added A record settings in the Forward zone settings as asusal - pointing to diferent box so when someone type matrix.com it should go to IIS machine whos ip is 10.2.8.92 and it has own box and is part of the domain. If i type http://www.matrix.com or http://10.2.8.91 doesn't work from 10.2.8.92 or any other workstation. But if I type http://matrix.com(without www) or http://10.2.8.91 from IIS machine it works. I can ping IIS machine from any workstation but can't view the website. Even I tried turning firewall off on IIS machine. Any advice.
