Hello, I slimmed down my XP install and added SP3 to it. Then i found a LAN Driver pack i wanted to integrate... I downloaded and unzipped a directory full of maps with drivers for many LAN-card brands... I selected the whole map to be integrated into my XP CD... So far so good. After installing i got a New Hardware window asking me to locate the "RTL8029.SY_" file... Which should be in C:/Windows/NLDRV/103 now. I tried to point to the 103 folder on the CD, and the card was installed the way it should. But i guess the point of integrating the drivers into the CD is that you dont need any CD to install the drivers... Then i compared the files in the "103" maps on the CD and on the installed HDD. The map on the HDD is missing the needed .SYS file... "103" map fresh installed XP HDD: netrtp5.inf netrtp5.PNF (Added by nLite) INFCACHE.1 (Added by nLite) "103" map on CD: NETRTP5.IN_ RTL8029.SY_ Why did it not copy the "RTL8029.SY_" file when installing? I now found this problem for only 1 LAN card... I have integrated 135 LAN driver. Maybe the problem applies to more of those drivers... I read some topics about this same issue which dated from 2006... But there was no real sollution inside those topics...
