  1. hey! I use the drivers from Laptopvideo2go for my Nvidia quadro card. And the dudes overthere create modified INFs so new drivers can be installed on computers with models of graphics cards which are not supported in the original INFs. I have noticed that whenever i try to integrate these drivers which use modified INFs with vLite they never get installed, but if i leave the original INF it will automatically install without a problem. anyone know why that is so? if i use the modified inf to manually install it, it works fine

  2. i installed the latest matrix storage manager into Vista installation for my laptop. It should work. try also adding the Chipset driver. But the new matrix storage drivers aren't really a must have because they don't really improve performance much if you don't have RAID. I remove practically almost every driver except for HP printers and HP storage drivers and put in all of my drivers ... including the matrix storage driver and it works no problem

  3. Nothing is wrong with it. I just think a thread with that information would create a centralized point where users could get info why some software isn't working since a lot of users keep posting questions like "what did i remove?". Since Vlite currently has only 9 compatibilty options for 3rd party applications a thread where info is collected about possible exceptions would make information harvesting and search faster and easier and probably a few less threads with help requests due to removing certain components would be made on the forum

  4. It's some language, doesn't matter unless you really care I can check or you google it, BUT there is better solution.

In the Protect Files option (lower toolbar in the Components page) enter this:

    Windows\System32\C_936.NLS

And vLite will keep that file next time.

In next version you can select Compatibility-Applications-Perfect World Client.

    Thanks for reporting this.

Hey Nuhi how about a sticky post that has all these possible exceptions written down. I'm sure you've gathered a collection of information what files should be protected from removing and it would be great to have all this information in a sticky and it would also help anyone in finding info on compatibility problems quickly and people won't have to wait for a new version of Vlite to come out that anxiously. Oh yes and other people could bring their findings about compatibility to you.

P.S. since i'm already writing to you i have one more request. Will it be possible to remove windows anytime upgrade with the next version? And removing windows SAT and then turning on Aero automatically gives me Aero glass without needing to to go to properties and activate it

Keep up the good work cuz it is really good

  5. Anyway, losing out SAT only removes flip3d and taskbar app previews (i think!) whereas losing the sharing center makes me unable to configure my network adapters and protocols!!

I know this is old but i saw it and it bothered me because it is not true ... I removed SAT and Flip3d and the taskabar previews are still all there ... Maybe you aren't running the AERO theme

  6. sorry for reviving this but i think it actually fits here. What things do we break with the removal of Windows firewall. I saw a lot of things are written in Vlite that it is needed for, but I use bitdefender internet security and it shuts down the Win. firewall and Win. Defender anyway so i see no need for it. BUT Removing and disabling are not the same things. The same questions goes for Win. defender. What will get roken that a pro security tool like Bitdefender won't cover or will it removn cause any other nasty side effects

  7. I decided to give this it's own topic

I have a question: I am Vliting my version of Vista Ultimate for my laptop. I won't ever connect to the laptop with remote desktop but i may want to use my laptop to connect to my home desktop computer. So i was wondering if I remove Remote desktop and Assistance what does that do? Does it completly slag remote desktop or will it still let me use remote desktop client to connect to some other computer?

    Thx in advance
