I need a way to be able to look into a program's .bin file and see where certain files are supposed to be installed so that I can do it manually. Any ideas?

I need a way to be able to watch as a program is being installed and see exactly what is being installed, where it is being installed, and to be able to decide if I want certain program files to be installed at all, and if so, where they get installed at. Any suggestions?
