Is there just a way to do it without downloading a buggy 3rd party unknown program?

Ok so I want to have it so I can watch streamed video from firefox while I play games. I play the game in windowed mode but fullscreened and I can resize the firefox box to fit right where I want, but whenever I select the game, it brings it above the firefox movie which is playing (but behind) and prevents me from actually watching it, Being a linux user for a while I suppose maybe I am spoiled in useful features since I do this all the time on it, its pretty simple task but is it even possible on vista?
