Broadband connection error 678 and 720

Hi, I am facing the first problem which you faced Error 678. I have Windows XP home edition installed on my machine. I have BSNL Broadband connection. I have internal modem with my laptop. Dial up works fine for me. But I belive the BSNL modem is not getting connected. How to resolve this issue. Kindly revert back.
