If you messed up like me and removed this service aswell you can manually instal it even after XP is installed, you are going to need an XP disc wich has it on though:

Since your problem obviously has been solved, you might add the word "(solved)" into the thread title by editing your first post.
My comment:
1. It was not a good idea to format your RAID device and to create RAID partitions by using a tool like Partition Magic, because these tools are not really designed for RAID arrays and additionally they are using another method than the MS formatting and partition tools. The better method would have been to create and format the boot partition at the beginning of the XP installation. Big advantage: At this time NVIDIA's nForce SataRaid drivers are already in use!
2. You can't simulate the real installation of an OS onto an nForce RAID array by using a virtual machine.

EDIT: Sorry for wasting your time guys! Formatting your partition using NTFS and a clustersize above 4KB causes this error.
I'm not sure wether this post belongs in the nForce RAID drivers integration thread or a seperate one. I hope this isn't a problem.
I made various attempts to get my customised XP to work, but so far failed every time. I'm guessing it has to do with my RAID configuration + chipset. I'm using an eVGA nForce 680i mainboard with 2x320GB Seagate HDDs in RAID0. Everytime I try to install Windows XP I get the error Disk Read Error, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to reboot right after the "DOS-like" setup is finished (one where you choose wich partition you want to install it to etc.)
I have integrated the latest nVidia RAID drivers on my CD and SP3 aswell. Witouth the RAID drivers I get the error aswell, so it's a bit of a difficult problem.
What I've done:
- Deleted my old RAID Arrays and disconnected ALL drives, except the 2 320s
- Created a new RAID0 Array with those 2 drives and set them as Boot
- Used bootable Partition Magic CD to make 2 partitions on the volume, WINDOWSXP = 35GB and DATA01 = 575GB (Both primary, NTFS formatted, Clustersize = 8KB, NTFS version 3.1)
- Inserted my custom XP CD made with nLite
- Directed the installer to install Windows XP on the 35GB partition
Ok from this point on Windows starts to copy the files to the HDD's and then reboots normally. Then when it tries to load the setup from the HDD I get the "Disk Read Error, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to reboot" error.
I'm a bit at a loss here as I have no clue as to what I might be doing wrong. I've tried both the drivers from the original Floppy Disk and the latest ones from the nVidia website.
AFAIK there is nothing wrong with the original XP I used either. It's a fresh copy downloaded straight from MSDN (Windows XP Professional SP2 Retail Dutch).
The image works fine on a Virtual Machine.
I also looked on google to see if I could find anything, but wasn't able to find a working solution. And we all know IPB + Search function pretty much fails most of the time.
