  1. Hello, I'm new to this forum and want to start with a problem I disovered using nlite with with different versions of Windows XP. Some time ago I created a Windows XP Pro X64 CD with nlite. I removed some drivers for hardware like USB audio devices and other stuff I never use and also I removed a few services that I could safely remove, like the smartcard service or the one for wireless lan. Then I customized the appearance of windows xp the way I like it, entered the serial number checked my settings and burned the CD. After the CD was finished, I installed the OS and everything went fine but when I tried to acces my external harddisk or any shared folder on another computer inside my lan, the folders and their subfolders were empty when accessed from this computer. But the size of these folder is showed correctly and I can run files inside these folders by using "run" from the start menu. Every other computer can access the contents of the shared folder and the external harddisk without any problems. After a few problems with Windows XP X64 and software that wasn't really compatible with the OS, I created a "ligth" Version of a Windows XP Home Edition CD, integrated the new SP3 and drivers and removed only drivers and services I was absolutely sure about. I installed this Windows XP Home "light" Edition and guess what? The same problem like with the X64 version. Something interesting is when I download a zip file directy to the "affected" computer and extract it there, every works fine. But when I download the file on another computer, copy it the affected machine and extract it, the extracted folders seem to be empty. The windows explorer is configured to show every file, even hidden and system files, I'm logged in with an admin account. Informations about the computer: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ MSI K8N Neo2 plat. 2 GB DDR-RAM 40GB Samsung HDD The windows versions I used with nlite: Windows XP X64 Professional OEM - english Windows XP Home Edition OEM - german
