I found a software program and tried that one and the md5 / hash file is as follows: EA16789F6FC1D2523F704E8F9AFBE906
-
I extracted the hash tabs add ons that I found at http://xable.net/forums/viewtopic.php?id=20 but did not see any installer - just a dl_file, in_file & configurations setting file. What exactly do I install?
-
no I do not use any download manager. I did download the hash tabs from http://xable.net/forums/viewtopic.php?id=20 so I can just install that and follow the steps you have listed. Thanks

okay, I'll download the hash tabs from http://xable.net/forums/viewtopic.php?id=20. Once I have installed it - exactly what do I do then to let you knw what the MD5 is for IE7?

The reason that the IE7 download had 2 .exe levels on it was because the last time I tried to make the disc I highlighted the download just to make sure that it was correct and it did not show the .exe so I thought that perhaps that was the problem and added the .exe to it. It didn't seem to make any difference that there was an additional .exe at the end because I got the same exact error message that I have gotten the last 4 times before that. On the page for including the last session I do not select to include it with the slipstreaming (in fact I do not have the box checked at the bottom to load the last session on the page for the presets and I have also highlighted the items and selected to delete them -- I have never clicked on the button to load them. I will give it one more try and let you know what happens this time.

My disc is an oem windows xp professional which has the sp1 on it. I found 4 items listed in the last session all with the same date. I'll attach them here for you to view. I did try going and downloading the IE7 again and the same thing happens. Thanks for the help. I checked the size of the file and it is the same as what you have stated. However, I'm not sure where to check the "MD5 EA16789F6FC1D2523F704E8F9AFBE906" to see if that is the same. I went directly to the MS to download it. I tried again with the same response. My first attempt was to create a slipstream disc with both the SP2 and the IE7 - but when I got that error I decided to just try creating the disc with SP2 and nothing else - that went well. So I tried again only to have the same issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Hello, I am trying to make an XP Pro disc with the SP2 update as well as including IE7. I had no problems when making the disc with just SP2 but would like to make one with IE7 but get an error when doing so. The error states: IE7-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe – this is not expected type of hotfix.. Please report this error if it’s unexpected. I went to MS site and downloaded the IE7 for XP Service Pack 2 or later so I’m not sure why I got this error. Any ideas?

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking to do but I went to the start menu and right clicked on an open area and selected "properties". From there I selected the start menu tab and choose customize. About halfway down there is a section for "start menu size and the option to select the number of recent programs to display" I selected 0 and only have my internet link checked off to be shown in the start menu. In the top section of this page are a group of other items that you can either select or remove check mark from to customize how links, icons and menus look and behave in the start menu. Now I just got my pc and it is running Vista Home Premium with SP1 installed and it is the 32 bit operating system. Not sure what the difference is between your system and mine but you may want to see if that will help you to customize the start menu to your liking. Good Luck!

Hi There!~ I did start all over again from scratch using the oem windows xp pro disk that I have (which has sp1 and apparently some hotfixes on it - found out about the hotfixes when tried making my disc the first time). Anyway, I started over and just integrated the SP2 into the original oem disk that I have. I then created another disk (that is when I realized that using the same folder where I save the oem info to would already include the sp2 into it) and added the Add-Ons from this site. The only thing is that I noticed that when I put the new CD into the CD-Rom drive it does not start automatically like the original oem disk does. I can click on the drive to open it and the screen for installing the program is there but it does not run automatically. Why is this? Thanks for all the help and assistance!!

Hello, I created a slipstream cd integrating the windows xp pro sp2 with no problems. However, I noticed that if I install it into the cd rom drive it does not start automatically like the original Windows xp (pro) cd does. Why is this? TIA lnjr

I started over and just created an iso using the windows xp pro disc that I have which has sp1 and some hot fixes on it (oem) and integrated the sp2 onto it and created the iso and then a cd with no problems. Just one more question. Do I have to start all over again in order to try making a new iso/cd integrating the hotfixes into it and or just IE7, Net framework or the add ons? Thanks for all the help - it has been Greatly Appreciated. lnjr

Hello, What I had done was to go to MS updates and clicked on the link to see what updates were downloaded and installed on my pc and then went to the site and downloaded them all and put them into a separate folder just for the updates and hot fixes. There were a few that as the integrating process was going on a pop up screen would tell me that it was not meant for my version and that it was not included. I just clicked okay on those and later looked back to see what they were and realized that some of those were for IE6 and now IE7 is installed on my pc (but use firefox) and I did notice that when the screen popped up it stated for Windows 2000 but I was just going by the information that I got from the MS updates site for the KB numbers for the updates installed. I guess I will just skip the hotfixes and just make a slipstream cd with SP2 (the current one is an OEM that already has SP! and some hotfixes on it) and keep a cd with the IE7, Net Framework updates and WMP11 on that just in case I need it. Thanks!
