  1. I'm doing my first unattended windows 7 install, and using 'windows system image manager' to create an unattended.xml file. I'm not clear on how best to set it up to wipe any existing drive and use the entirety for the new Win 7 install. I don't want to go wrong though, and I'm not sure what is required so any input or samples would be much appreciated!
  2. I'm still fairly new to the unatended setup and am wondering if when trying to support multiple system types you would use different CDs or if you would add additional driver directories under 'drivers\' (as referenced here: http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/drivers.htm ). That is to say, if we have two system types who's NIC drivers were not included with XP or SP1, would we have a sperate CD for each with the drivers in "drivers\001_NIC\" or would we setup a "drivers\001_dellNic;drivers\002_gatewayNIC"... ? The article wasn't really clear if ou could have multiples of the same type of drivers, or if that would cause problems, i.e. the 001 is soomehow specific to NIC etc. Thanks for any assistance. Mick
  3. I'm now using a slipstreamed CD to install windows XP and after moving the winnt.sif to the \i386 directory on the CD, I've done two installs on laptops and neither will start up. They get through the install and get to the "Windows XP" Screen and the little bar at the bottom starts scrlling left to right, left to right... and then it just locks up. I had added some OEM driver info to the SIF file and since remed it out to make sure it wasnt a problem. Here's the content of the winnt.sif file: The only otehr change I made to the CD was that I worked in the post sp1 patch replacing all the individual patches in the last version of the CD. Can anyone see anything wrong here that would cause these to fail? I cna start them both up in safe mode just fine, but haven't been able to figture out what they are hanging on. Thanks! Mick
