I have the same problem I followed this guide: http://wiki.eeeuser.com/howto:nlitexp Tried to tether a blackberry to Eee 1000 XPsp3, but there is no control panel for Phone & Modem options. Well guess what. I was an id***. I FAILED to notice the Hardware support section warning: "Modem Support: Don't remove it if you want 3G wireless." Doh! Hope this helps someone

I followed those guides for my Asus eee 1000 for WinXP SP3 Installed fine but when I went to install the latest Asus drivers for XP these services failed: ACPI driver = I cannot put my laptop to sleep nor see any battery usage info. Not good. Phone & Modem panel = I cannot tether it to my blackberry Bluetooth = cannot find bluetooth device, when it is already onboard I went to the Asus website to get the latest drivers for XP and that is what I have. So before you invest hours in an nLite install following those instructions, make sure you understand what needs to be added for your model. (I'm still not 100% clear on how to figure all that out). I'm now going back to see what I left out that makes these 3
