  1. The articled linked in "Windows 2003 - convert from server to desktop" needs an update. When you follow the advice on how to enable System Restore you get services error message at startup. In 2k3 SP1 they introduced the "Application Experience Lookup Service". Its entry is removed from the registry key by the walkthrough. Topic with fix: http://www.msfn.org/board/Windows-2003-ser...288#entry749288 Even then I couldn't get System Restore to work, but that's something some one else might want to look into again.
  2. If you have tried installing the XP or 2000 drivers using the HP supplied method (some setup file) have noticed that this process fails early on. You may even have fudged around with installing System Restore, as it seems to fail around that point. This is how to get the printer working: -- Get "HP Multi-Function Products Driver Bundle - Corporate Only" for example for the HP Photosmart 3210. You might want to pick your own printer. Run the file. It wil ask where to extract. Defaults to a directory on your desktop. Leave the files there for a moment. Get Bonjour for Windows from Apple: Go through the Bonjour wizards. It will find your networked printer. When asked to select a driver choose "Have a disk..". Go to the directory you just extracted to, select hpaioa.inf (AIO = all-in-one). Continue with the wizard. -- I hope this saved you some time.
