[What's the best DVD ripper?]

I was using VirtualDUB to convert the .vob files to .avi but it must keep the audio format AC3 so some PCs on which the codec is not installed couldn't play the sound,so can somebody help me how I can change the format to mp3 using virtualDUB or tell me about the best DVD ripper to convert the .vob files to .mpg .thanks

I recommended you to use iSkysoft. It is cheap and can convert dvd to mpg files with high quality.

I've done a little searching and have found a few out there. If anyone has some experience with a specific program for converting to an Ipod, maybe you can share with me...

Run DVD's from the PC and convert them to a Ipod compatable...

I tried iSkysoft DVD to iPod Converter. The conversion speed is so so. But the quality of the output files is Ok. It is easy to use. I like its trimming and cropping functions. But it is not freeware.

It can not support Mac OS X. Handbrake and Mac the ripper are freeware to convert dvd to iPod format files for mac users.

I have iSkysoft dvd to iPod converter and it does a decent job. It probably takes 30 minutes to rip a full-length movie with sound and picture quality set to maximum. The iSkysoft DVD to iPod converter is $29. There are versions for Mac and PC users.
