  1. ...here's more: I took the recovery CD and had the recovery utility copy the install files to disk. When the system rebooted to continue the setup from disk, I turned it off, took out the drive, and hooked it up to another computer. Sure enough, there are all the XP install files, with directories like $WIN_NT$.~LS, CMPNENTS, I386, etc. I then tried making a bootable flash drive by using the USB_MultiBoot5 utility from this forum... Guess what? Stop 7B again. Aargh! EDIT: SOLVED I took the XP install files and followed directions on http://kylefarnung.com/index.php/2007/02/2...a_custom_oem_wi to produce a bootable DVD with nlite. The only change from the directions above is that the mass storage driver is [MassStorageDrivers] "Intel® 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH8M-E/M)"="OEM" (This info, along with the product key, is contained in the unattended.txt file)
  2. Hi all, I've been trying to install XP on a Fujitsu t2010 tablet. Originally, it came with a restore disk that wipes the drive as it restores the OS. I have a new retail copy of Windows, but after it loads drivers and goes to "Setup is starting Windows", a Stop 7B error pops up. I tried to boot off of an XP disk from an old desktop, and it worked fine, but couldn't see the SATA drive. Then, I tried booting off of a pirated XP disk I downloaded that was supposed to have all the latest drivers, and it installed just fine! But I can't update it, install WMP 11, etc. since it's a pirate copy. My goal now is to figure out how to combine the working parts of the pirate disk with the legit disks to get a legit installation going. So far, I tried installing the recovery disk on a spare hard drive and copy the c:\windows\i386\ directory over the \i386\ of the pirate disk. No dice, Stop 7B again. I'm at a loss. Clearly I seem to have all the components needed to make this work, but I can't figure out how to. Please help.
