  1. Is there any program that would mount a CD in the CD drive like in Linux - it reads contents of the disc, then you can remove the CD and still browse it; it reads all file structure, so you do not have to wait everytime you open a folder, since it read all the content when you mounted it? Of course, if you open a file, the disc has to be in the drive, but just for faster browsing - is such program for Widonws available?
  2. 1. I would like Windows not to create a different folder for each user, but to use one Desktop, one My documents, Temp, App Data and so on for all users. I actually do not need more than one user and I do not want Defaul User and All users folders to exist separately - I want just ONE App Data folder, one Temp folder, one Desktop, one Start menu folder. Is it possible to tweak Windows installation files - to set folder paths, replace "%currentprofile%" (something like that) with ""... In other words, is it possible to change paths BEFORE installing Windows - I can change Documents and Settings, Program Files, Temp and Windows install dir in nLite, but that is not enough for me - I want more paths to change. 3. And I would like my start menu to look not like Start menu>Programs and only then all installed software shortcuts, but like you click on the start button and see everything that normally is in Programs sumenu. I've tried to set Start menu\Programs as Start menu folder, and then I get what I want - I see all shortcuts that are in Programs subfolder directly in the main Start menu, BUT I also see Programs submenu and it shows the same programs - I want Programs submenu to disappear, since I already see those shortcuts in the Start menu.
  3. 1. Is it possible to place, for example, HD, CD-Rom and removable drive icons on desktop - not shortcuts, but real icons that are in My Computer, so that I could see their properties (space left), eject, format the disc from the desktop, not going to My computer? I've tried to create a folder with My computer CLSID and set it as a desktop folder (through User Shell Folders in registry), but it did not work - I did not see those drive icons on the desktop. 2. When I open a folder and go "one level up" until the end, I reach desktop. When I am in Open file window, go to Look in, I see that Desktop is, you could say, root folder, then goes My computer, and only then a hard disc. Is it possible to tweak Windows that it showed my hard drive as the root of the roots? I mean, if I went "one level up" and the end I reached hard drive, not desktop? Or could that at least be My computer, not desktop?
