  1. Start Regedit Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system If it is not already there, create a DWORD value named DisableStatusMessages Give it a value of 0 It was set to 1. looking at my config. for this setting... I saw a setting in tweaks>Boot and shutdown that wasn't set at all for status messages and changed it to "extended". So I guess I fixed this. Anyone know how to get rid of that little purple/pinkush highlight that is now plaguing the start menu? i usually strip all visual effects, so the menu looks like classic windows 2000 with a blue highlight when you mouseover any start menu items...
  2. I am very happy with my nlite image. One thing however I cannot figure out. The computer after imaging does not display startup and shutdown messages ( like "starting up", "applying profile" settings", "shutting down". I deploy software thru group policy and when it is installing, there is nothing on the screen at all. I want it to display the message ("Installing Managed Software _____ ..." so I don't get a billion calls. I have a big deployment coming up and I want to get my nlite image correct. thanks in advance folks. nlite rules! -J
