  1. ok well now i have an even worse problem, media center will not run anymore i get this error:http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/7164/crash1op6.jpg and it also wont let me update to rollup, so im stuck on rollup 1 and i cant even run MC, what am i left to do? i tried running the update from IE7, windows explorer, and i downloaded the rollup 2 executable file from microsoft, and none will work!
  2. i uninstalled .net 1.1 and re installed the sp1 version, it then kept the reg key at 3.0 as it was before, and i tried running the install again, and i got the same error, then i tried changing the reg key to 4.0 and then ran it, and this time it said "setup error" and to unistall my MCE 2005 update and re update, should i do that and change the reg key back to 3.0?
  3. maybe that fits your scenario too? thanks geek... lolwell it might be my problem but when i run the installer, i dont get the message about the hard drive partition, rather it goes straight to my OS isnt supported, but ill give this a try once i find out how i can do it, i dont understand on how to update the partitions to fix this, i do have partitioning software, like norton partition magic, so im sure i can do this easily
  4. hi, my problem is that ive been trying to install the media center edition extender for the xbox 360 and i figured out my problem, when trying to install it, it would say i was on an incompatible OS (http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/2860/error1rp6.jpg) , but i looked in my media center and everything was fine, it said windows xp media center edition 2005 update rollup 2, exactly what i needed... heres a screenshot: (http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/3008/error2lg7.jpg) then after i took a look at Properties after right clicking the My Computer icon, and this is what came up: http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/6051/error3bl8.jpg it says im on windows mce 2002, which i know is incorrect considering i bought it from dell as a 2005 mce and this was in 2006, so they wouldnt have sold me an old version of MCE, and second i have the MCE 2005 install disk on hand, so it is legit. so my question is how do i fix this problem? i would really love to install the media center extender but it requires im on MCE 2005, but the version number is what ruins everything... thanks to anyone who helps
