Uncheck the "Launch folder windows in a separate process" option in Folder Options, reboot, fixed! I had searched for ages for this solution! Thanks to this guy: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=490450

For anyone else who searches, I fixed the Local Area Connection Status problem by turning off the "Launch folder windows in a separate process" option.

I'm creating a custom Windows XP x64 CD using nLite 1.4.1. For some reason, IE is missing after the installation completes. The IE icon is on the desktop, but the C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ directory is not there. If I make a CD without Unattended Setup, IE is there and works fine. Doesn't make sense to me. I went through the process many times but I'm getting the same results. Of course, I did not remove the IE component. - This is a 64 bit version, so it might have something to do with the Program Files location? - IEXPLORE.EX_ does exist in the AMD64 directory. This may or may not have something to do with another minor problem I'm seeing, which is where double-clicking my "Local Area Connection" icon does not bring up the Status box. I did not remove the "Internet Connection Sharing" component or anything networking related. Ideas?
