  1. So, nothing strange if the BigLba key does not appear in the registry? Sorry to ask again but i heard of stories where even XP SP2 trashed Hard drives and i was trying to find a way to double check this. Thanks for your attention anyway, and happy new year to all the forum dwellers
  2. First of all, since it's my first post, Hi everyone Background: I have a 250 gb drive that once housed a cozy W2K SP4 installation and a lot of data in one partition. It suffered a fatal crash i was not able to recover, i have now to install on that same drive from scratch, without losing the data. I now have a XP SP2 integrated bootable CD, that's because i heard that SP2 will install no problems from scratch on Big LBA drives. Question I tried an install on a small drive (12 gb) and it is indeed installed as Windows XP SP2, but the EnableBigLba registry key is nowhere to be found. Is that normal? Can i go and try install on the large drive without risking data loss?
