Does anyone have, or know a little tool that can
be used in a batch file to detect if a drive is
a DVD-ROM or a CD-Writer?
If that is possible, I can automaticaly install
nero if a CDRW is found and install PowerDVD
if a DVD drive is found.
Thnzzz

Yes, I know, and already did that, but sometimes, unexpectedly someone brings a pc to reinstall windows, and had a Sata which is not yet in my txtsetup.sif -> then I would like to use his sata floppy. I don't have the time at that moment to add this driver to the XP CD
@Blyster
Problem is that he accepts the driver first part of txtsetup, recognizes the disk, but when copying, he can't find the drivers on the floppy.
Thnx both for your reply

Well, here I go...
I'm working more then 2 weeks for a complete Unattended install.
All ways described here worked fine for a while but there is one thing coming up. I have to install pc's with all types of sata/raid (Sil3112, VIA Sata, ..., to Promise SX4000)
There is always a pc of which I didn't include the drivers on the CD.
You hear me coming...Sometimes, if the SATA/RAID is not on cd, I would like to use a Floppy and press F6.
Is there a way to solve this?
After F6 - Setup asks for a Floppy, takes the drivers, recognizes de SATA disk, but in the Copy process he asks again for the floppy and can't find the drivers anymore.
Thnx a lot

Hi all,
I created a very nice win xp home/pro unattended cd with all your help
and I always keep the drivers in the $OEM$ up to date.
but now with the new nvidia drivers it's not installing automatically.
In my winnt.sif is the DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore line but still not
working.
I compared the files with earlier versions. I saw they now are
all compressed (only 23Mb international, earlier versions 43Mb!)
file extensions are like *.xx_
Can this be the problem? How to solve this prob?
Thanx in advance
