  1. wow,JOB IS DONE!

    I clear C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search

    then it works .

But i really don't know why in the previous trying i only can transfer the Applications and Config directory, but for Temp.

    perhaps some update patch's effct?

  2. IN VISTA,REGMON FILEMON combined to PROCMON.

I've used it to capture some read from

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\

    like"DataDirectory""TempPath"

    some value is unchangeable.

I had turned off UAC.I think it is the top privilege account.

the problem is i can't modify the privilege set.

    Anyone can modify them?

    I'll find time research it...

  3. Most Frequently Used programs (MFU) list stuck

U know MFU cache shortcut in start menu/program and desktop

but now my MFU didn't cache any lnk in start menu/program.like notepad

the desktop lnks is showed in MFU,but lnks in any sub-directory of desktop are excluded similarly.

for example, foobar.lnk in desktop/unused,then it will never appear in MFU

  4. recently i modified the path of index data from C:\ProgramData\Microsoft to D:\TMP.

then i changed it back to default C:\ProgramData\Microsoft.

    and without reboot,i delete D:\TMP.

so the config files got lost.

Using SFC,i rebuild two files in search\data\config\

but the path still is D:\TMP after several change and reboots.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\

there're "DataDirectory" character string value and "DataDirectory" item

    value are same D:\TMP

the first value changable, but the second errors

    similarly,"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\Gathering Manager\DefaultApplicationsPath" and "TempPath" is D:\TMP and can't change.

so i can only modify DataDirectory character string to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft,

    and search\data\temp fixed in D:\TMP

HOW could i restore it back to normal
