  1. Hi, I just found out how Vista's firewall can block outbound traffic as well. I started it up, and got it blocking. I have added a buncha rules, but I was wondering if there was some general list of exceptions to allow that deal with system applications. I had a hard time figuring out how to allow my wireless printer, and windows update. Now I'm having trouble allowing Remote Assistance. I've already allowed msra.exe, but I'm still having a bit of trouble. I've already configured port 3389 TCP/UDP to go through as well as two separate outbound rules. What do I have to allow for Remote Assistance to work? Is it a service or something? Is there some software I can use to monitor what's being blocked? I tried Vista Firewall Control, but apparently that's just another firewall that uses the same stuff Vista Firewall uses, and it didn't really help me. thanks for any help.
  2. Hi, I was just wondering if there was a way to backup products that have been activated? I just read about Microsoft's DreamSpark program, and when I was going through the FAQs, it said the license keys given were single-use only. I tend to reformat my computer every once in a while to do a clean install, and I was just wondering if there was a way to just backup the software I installed and activated (Expression Studio, Visual Studio, and XNA Studio)? I haven't been able to find anything, but the only thing I can think of would be imaging my hdd. Also, is it possible to backup the activation of Windows 2k3 server like it says in the unattended guide just copying wpa.dbl (I know this would only work on that computer I install it on, and I only plan on installing it on that computer anyways). Thanks
