  1. Yes I set the time Zone to Eastern (US & Canada) I'm at a loss cause it only happened on this CD. I guess the best thing to do is start over.
  2. I'll start searching for the needed registry settings. The only problem is I don't know how to get reg files to be installed during setup. I read the link you gave but still not sure how. (actually read most of the guide there).
  3. Here it is. The only thing not listed in it is my xp key. removed that so it doesn't get used by anyone else. ; Generated by nLite 1.4 [Data] AutomaticUpdates="No" Autopartition=0 MsDosInitiated=0 UnattendedInstall="Yes" [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended UnattendSwitch="Yes" OemPreinstall="Yes" OemSkipEula="Yes" ComputerType="Standard PC", Retail FileSystem=* WaitForReboot="No" NoWaitAfterTextMode=1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode=1 DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore Hibernation="No" [Display] Xresolution=1280 Yresolution=1024 BitsPerPel=32 [SystemRestore] DisableSR=1 CreateFirstRunRp=0 [GuiUnattended] EncryptedAdminPassword="No" AutoLogon="Yes" AdminPassword=* TimeZone=035 OEMSkipRegional=1 OemSkipWelcome=1 [Shell] CustomDefaultThemeFile="%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\NightShades.Theme" [Components] [UserData] ProductKey="" ComputerName=X64 FullName="Cokeman" OrgName="N/A" [RegionalSettings] Language= "0409" [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents="Yes" [WindowsFirewall] Profiles=WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall [WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall] Mode=0 [Identification] Not BIOS related, only happened with my custom nlite cd. So has to be something in the settings there.
  4. I have made changes & tested in vmware, everything worked great so decided time to burn to CD & test. Had a few issues I have already fixed but I have a Time & Date error I can't figure out. During the first boot windows gives the error time & date are wrong & need to be fixed. So I went to change it. The time, month, & day is all correct. The problem is the year shows as 1608. I used nlite to do all edits. Except for a few items in $OEM% folder. Please help me with this.
  5. I was wanting to know if there is a way to set my unattended cd to automatically not show desktop icons. I also want to know if there is a way to have the quick launch & desktop toolbars selected by default? I am using nlite to modify my setup & haven't found these options anywhere.
  6. I have made a custom screen replacing the boring blue with all the boring words. Now I want to go just a little further. I want to edit the wizard at the end that ask if you want automatic updates turned on, enter user name, etc... The problem is I'm not sure which file or files I need to edit for this. Anyone know? The reason for this the disc I am making will be used for 4 users but we each have our own partitioned drive. So my disc won't be a complete unattended setup.
  7. I burned the iso installed windows on a second partition & the sound card is the only driver that installed. The rest were generic type drivers from microsoft. except for lan, & motherboard components that didn't install anything. Not sure whats going on. The drivers I need are for an Asus k8n motherboard, Ati AIW Radeon 9600xt, & the onboard sound.
  8. Thanks I tried installing it & the only driver that installed was my sound card. It installed a generic graphics driver from microsoft. SO I'll need to see whats causing it.
  9. I added drivers every way I have found. Tried slipstreaming, adding with nlite, etc...every time I test an iso in either microsofts virtual machine or in vmware. I get the same results. The drivers it installs are not for my hardware. Heres a list of some of the issues. Graphics driver won't install (ati AIW 9600xt) IDE Controller: installs as Intel bus master(i have an amd nforce 3 board) Sound: shows as creative ( i have onboard realtek sound) Network Adapter: Shows as AMD PCFamily network Like I said this is in every iso I tested (close to 10) I have tried every way I have found on the net. the latest try added every driver pack from drivers.net to make sure I had the correct drivers. So is this normal in a virtual machine? Or is something not figured correctly? I only need a few drivers for the following. Graphics, sound, main baord devices such as lan, ide controller. Thanks for any help you can give me.
  10. Thanks for the help & sorry for the topic title. I renamed it. @geek, I tried the drivers there but they didn't install. It showed them extract during installation. But system properties shows them not installed. I got everything fixed with the wizard asking about automatic updates, but now I have a new issue. During installation I get a error about system restore being turned off & windows media player won't be able to do something. But after the installation is complete System Restore is on & the service is running. Any ideas what is causing this?
  11. I just recently find out about all these unattended installations, a couple days ago actually. I used a custom version that was nice but to much for me. So I decided to check into making my own. Got nlite started reading & today made my first iso tested it everything went great. But I need to do a few things so here goes. Please remember I am a noob at this. 1. I want a complete unattened install after I choose which drive partition & format it. from then on I want to walk away come back & everything is done. It was this way until windows finished & I got the wizard at the end it asked if I wanted automatic updates turned on or off, It also had me create a user name. I fixed the user issue but how can I get it to disable auto update without asking? 2. I want to add my drivers to the installation, the problem for me is the motherboard drivers, (ethernet, gart, audio, etc) require directX 9 be installed before the drivers are or major issues will develop. I know this from experience. SO how can I add DirectX9 to the windows installation before the drivers are installed. Now again I am a complete noob at this so bare with me. I have XP sp2 with all hotfixes to date. Is DX 9 in this? I have a few other things but I'll deal with these issues first before going into the other things.
