  1. If You, dont`t understand...

    1. How this software works...

    2. That it`s "independent" drom microsoft...

    3. Anyway, it Breaks VISTA EULA anyway`(if you read that...what I rally doubt)

You have a free Choice... don`t use it... ;)

Nuhi Had also Choice.... (I`m guessing: ... redistribute waik, with his creation... or end the project...)

  2. for my opininion ... " for OC`d Quad it`s fine to remove that...

It`s most likely thought for single-cores...

Dual Cores/Quad Cores + Creative X-FI...users live without it better... :thumbup

  3. So are users with only a Vista SP1 disc outta luck?

    Nope...

For me Business X86 installs just fine...

    (Q6600@3,4 GHz + A-Data Extreme 2x2GB @ 2,1V)

    Works...like a charm ;)

So my guess is, that Memory Voltage is`nt the culprit here...

What I Think is some memory configurations...

    For Instance...

1GB+1GB+512+512... FAIL (All was corsairs XMS series, same model, Dual channel kits)...

Removed 2x512MB Sticks... installed & worked... added 2x512MB sticks back again.. (after install) works also ... [All based from my, friends computer)

So my guess is , that "overvolting" your RAM doesn`t help...

What counts is Memory configuration it self...

    EDIT:

My final opinion is that= Vista is very sensitive how do you place, your Dual channel memory...

IF all sticks are same "capacity" and Identical... problem doesnt occure... if they are somewhat different...there, will be a problem...

  4. Have a look on this thread:

    http://www.msfn.org/board/VistaSP1-Problem-t113289.html

In my case not removing "Remote Desktop and Assistance" fixed the problem.

    Ouch.. :blushing:

tried various removals, but dint tried to keep that... will try ASAP

Only difference is that I have pre-integrated Disc from M$

No It Isn`t "Remote Desktop and Assistance" either...

Preset that works with 1.1.6RC still does not work with 1.1.6 Final...

I`m running out of ideas...

    EDIT:

This weekend, will start from zero... with 1.1.6Final...

Trying to remove...components one by one... without loosing this ability...

Trying to figure out, what breaks this feature...

  5. I am one of the lucky bastards who have a intuos 3 wacom tablet, now this tablet, on a non-modified vista pre sp1, required the tablet pc service to run, in order for the pen to work. Obviously this is of course bloatware and can be remedied =), however, as you all know, eerr, the snipping tool is/can be kept even tho you remove tablet pc software. Possibly that is the error, which is also the only thing that made sense from that error log.

Was also thinking that (because its only understantable entry for me in that log)...

    Will test it today...

    EDIT:

Kept snipping tool, problem persists...

Basically, It would very helpful, if someone looks at this log & and gives us A Hint... :blushing:

  7. x64 .NET takes twice as much hard drive space as x86.

So I guess, I undertsood it correctly :hello:

If You can build seperate runtimes for vLite, let me know ;)

Bf2cc I can discard, it runs, on linux over mono aswell, vlite & nLite is the issue...

nLite has (perfect) replacement, so it`s OK... resolved...

Still vLite doesn`t have them (yet) ...

It`s insane, to keep 1GB runtimes for three (10MB) programs

2x36GB Raptors , ain`t so big, that space can be wasted ;)

    EDIT:

If people think, that Linux is better, for 4GB...

32-Bit linuxes, suffers the same issue... (its 32-bit archidecture not OS`es fault)

BTW: Linux Live CD`s support only 1GB of ram ;) (Because they include "universal" kernels, that can run your old Intel P1`s aswell) :sneaky:

  8. the 1GB .NET is hard drive space not RAM

    Sorry... you misunderstood, me...

    Basically, I have 4GB RAM...

Vista & XP Pro (in use) give me usable 3,2 GB...

If I want to use all 4GB, then I have to go x64... ;) (more upgrades comin...GOOD OC RAM is "dirty cheap" ;) )

Also the .NET components use twice as much in 64-bit, then in 32-bit system... ?

That what i read, from your first post

    EDIT:

1.Sorry for bad english, I dont write it everyday...after a "bucket of beer" :blushing:

    2. Fixed typos, added, aditional Information.

  9. Well .NET is something like 1GB

No, not even remotely close

The .net folder on my Win2008 x64 installation is 154 MB (162,008,059 bytes).

    The .net 2.0 redistributable download is only 22.4MB (x86) or 45.2MB (x64).

How did you come up with this ludicrous 1GB?

    WTF

    Wanted to move x64 Business...

Have to think...nLite+Vlite+bf2cc is the only programs that I use...

So basically 1GB "runtimes" to keep 3 programs running?

    Otherwords...

If I want "utilize my 4GB ram" wisely...

  10. Canon Printers or Multifunctional Device(Printer/Scanner/Copy)

    Components:Drivers-->Printers-->Canon

Error:Canon driver install fails.Device(s) will not be recognized

Notes:Bad thing is that this particular built in driver weights no more than ~298MB  (more than any other printer driver!).

I have Canon Pixma IP2000 printer, removed Canon printer drivers but integrated IP2000 drivers (in fact they were meant for XP). Works well! :)

Im using Canon MP110.Removed def Canon drivers and integrated correct Vista x86 MP110 drivers but printer was not recognized no matter what.

EPSON has same issues, when "vistaish" drivers removed won`t install (XP nor Vista drivers)

Just hangs on driver install...no errors...no nothing...

Only "exit" is kill setup & other setup processes from TaskManager (0% CPU usage btw, left overnight)

    Tested on StylusPhoto 2200 & StylusPhoto R200

    Samsung, Works fine (ML-1610)

    EDIT:

BTW there is minor error in this list...

Theres a similar topic for nLite so thought... lets make one for vLite :D Eventually it will build up.

    Samsung PC Studio

    Components:Modem Support

Error:You wont be able to use your nokia phone as modem because driver install fails. Also PC Suite install(as a whole)may fail.

What Samsung PC Studio & Phones has to do...with Nokia Phones & Nokia PC Suite?

  11. Actually I encountered that problem too, not found solution tough (only keep outlook express)...

Characters that corrupt for me are...

    ÄÖÜÕ...

But that happens only in Personal message field... not in chat.

I guess thats not limited though... (Thinking about other languages wich uses "strange characters" besides estonian...)

Any Swedish or Norweigian here in forums? (ÅÆǾ)

I can also confirm that Cyrillic (Russian) corrupts

    Pure english is fine...

    EDIT:

No I dont remove Estonian & russian keyboard btw...
