Could anybody tell me if its possible to buy a different fan for my notebook? asus a2h Both fans are running ( I know the cpu fans has to run!) and there is no way of controlling them in bios or with pcprobe. The store says they want to give me a fan that gives away only 12 Db. That sounds good... Where can i buy or have a look at cpu and chassis fans for notebooks S.

Hi Today I bought a notebook (asus a2500H) And the fan runs constantly at 2800 rpm the temp is 39 D Celsius. I didnt expect the fan to run all the time is there anything to do?? All help is welcome. S.

I`ve found the sollution!!! msconfig-services-workstation (unmark) this worked excellent for me. I now have the fastest startup ever! S.

Actually I still have the problem but know its been easier to find the problem since I have less processes. It seems that it is my DSL-connection... I guess i have to be passient thanks anyway for lots of quick responds. S.

It might be the dsl connection. anyway. now I have reformated and thinks are working good. this little thing was the last drop that made me do fresh install. good feeling this... all my backups worked out and it feels like Im 20 kilos lighter:) thanks everybody anyway. S.

Ive had a look and closed down some startups, but still have the problem. I think its very strange that I can open the taskmanager during the startup and see that the cpu load is almost zero and still the system is running only about 20 processes and after a minute the rest (about 14 more) kick in. If something was loading and was slow and large it would show up on the cpu-load. seems like nothing is going one during this waiting time but suddenly it kicks in. Just like there was a timer... I have posted this on another forum to and there 4 or 5 people reported to have the same thing in xp. still no sollutions though S.

I`ve disabled antivirus. Im using the built-in xp-firewall I`ve tried adaware. My dsl connection is NOT set to autologin. I have the office-xp (which I have used without problems before) It seems to me that the startup stops for some reason. It might be some process that is slowing it down Whem I open the task manager right after the desktop appears it shows about 20 processes and uses only 4% of the cpu. After about one minut the rest of the processes appear and the startupbutton and my dsl-connection can be started. I thougt someone knew about problems similar to this and had some "magik"fix... S.

Hi! I have a really slow startup. I`ve had this before and fixed it but I don`t remember how. Xp starts up and it looks like everything is ok, until I hit the startbutton and try my DSL connection. This causes everything to hang, and the startmenu cant be reached for about a minute. By looking at the taskmanager it seems that only 1/3 og the processes are started when this happens. Anyone understand what I mean. AND does anyone have the sollution? Thanks, S.

I get this message when i test direct x 8 in expert tool. "Direct3D test results: Failure at step 5 (GetDeviceCaps): HRESULT = 0x8876086a (3D not available)" What can I do to fix this? S

I would also say its junk but since you are only gonna use it for snapshots and email-pics I would say its what you need. you could also check out some of the musteks. the should be enough. I would at least go for the cheapest of the two youre looking at. S.

I myself have a canon ixux with 2.1 megapixels. this works very well for partyshots and makes good prints if you dont want posters I would go for the cheap one. If you really want a good digital I would go for something advanced. none of the cameras you look at will give you that. therefore go for the cheapie! why not try something like the logitech pocketcam or something???? S.

Well you`re right its not my first language but would you say this is perfect english: its not that hard to change a mother board there not that expensive to buy either considering they are kind of the main part of your pc. I know how to replace a motherboard. the fact that Im a newbie at this forum doesnt mean Im stupid. but thanks for good answers. guess I have to call MSI to ask them since no one bothers to check out my link. If you follow the link to BIOS you will se that an upgrade will make it possible to use amd xp 2200. it says this goes for turbo2, but I mailed www.Komplett.no and they too sayd I can go for amd xp 2200. all this is making me very unsure. dont wanna buy the rong cpu and dont wanna buy a new motherboard if I dont have to. S
