  1. I did notice some slight differences in the copied files from when I do a HDD install WITH the unattend.txt and without. The install WITH unattend.txt does not seem to create a bootsect.dat in the temporary C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT directory after the initial winnt32.exe temporary file copy. The install WITHOUT the unattend.txt does seem to put this file in that directory. Since the boot.ini in C: points to this file Im thinking that the unattend.txt install is not properly setting up the installation to boot properly after it copies the windows files into C:\windows. I cant figure out why its doing this, thus why Im here.
  2. Hi, Ive been trying to install xp pro unattended off the hard drive but it keeps failing. After I boot with BartPE and install via winnt32 /unattend:...unattend.txt /tempdrive:c / syspart:c /copysource:lang /s: ...\i386 ... It copies the temporary files and then exits fine. Once I reboot it goes into the DOS style setup where it checks the drives and copies all the files to the windows directory, this happens ok and then after copying it reboots. Normally at this point after rebooting it should start the XP Gui setup but instead it goes to the DOS setup where it tries to copy the files again. Once there when it tries to copy the files again it says the install cd is corrupted because obviously it has already done this part. Im not sure why this is happening. If I do a hard drive install with the same source but WITHOUT the /unattend/...unattend.txt file the install goes along fine. It enteres the XP gui setup like normal. I suspect there is something in the unattend.txt that is not allowing it to boot properly into the XP GUI setup after copying files. I used nlite to make my unattend.txt or winnt.sif.
