  2. Hmmm.. no one knows hey. Does anyone know how to transfer images from WDS server to another? When i export images from the first server and then add an install image on the second server using the exported image i get error messeges sayin "the system can not find the specified file". Any help would be appreciated
  3. Hey all, I was wondering if somone could fill me in on this question. I work with a Network that has a few sites, main office site is .26.xx. At the main office site is our exhcnage server, dns, dhcp etc. I have implemented a WDS server and it works a treat. A second site we have is on the sub .43.xx. To make WDS quicker we will be putting another WDS server on that site. My questions is, is there anything aside from the normal configuration on the second WDS server that i have to consider? Or if i implement it will all the clients know to look there when recieving an image. Do options 66 and 67 have to be enabled in the DHCP? Thanks for any/all help. Ryan
  4. Hey all, I've fixed the issue that i am having. The problem was as this is the second time around that i have played with WDS, the first time around i have somehow saved a "captured" boot.wim over the original boot.wim, hence the always goining straight into the Capture Wizard. Stupid i know.... Thanks Ryan
  5. Hey guys/gals, My name is Ryan. I am new in the IT field and i was wondering if i could get some assistance with Windows deployment services. The info is as follows I have ... 1) Created a deployment server, windows 2k3, sp2. 2) Configured the WDS to accept all clients 3) Created a boot image from a .wim file from a Vista CD 3) Created a capture image from that boot image 4) Built a reference computer to capture an image from 5) Configuerd a boot menu on the WDS console 6) Booted the reference computer off the nic to the "wds image capture wizrd". Was able to create an image and save it to the install image container on the server The problem that i am having is now when i boot the refernce computer off the nic (to test deploy the image) it always boots into the "capture wizard" instead of bringing up the image to be able to deploy. I tried to "disable" the boot image, but that just brought up errors when booting off the nic. Any/all help is much appreciated. Thank You Ryan
