  1. I updated the thread with RT7 components order with their consequences if you remove them. But the list is far from complete. So...

    :hello:

Nice! Lets keep this list growing!

And i have one question for anyone who could help me.

My slimmed edition of win7 has 1.5GB and i would like to know how touch the winsxs and filerepository folder without many consequences to install or software installation i searched any some forums here as well but isnt a easy task. some one know how to clean theses folders?

  2. i think we should open a new thread and star ourselves the "what should i not remove" list based on our experience and tests. i have some components that shouldn't be removed and i would like to share my knowledge.

anyone who knows some feature or component that if removed will break something after installation should post there and help everyone who is planing strip down the win 7.

    Hi,

I'm trying to do that, but there :

    http://www.rtwincustomize.net/web/index.php?/topic/7146-components-to-keep/#

    :hello:

Good. Very Good. but IMHO we should organize in different way. List the needed components/services like R7Lite list in the app for example

    Accessories

    * list accessories that fails if removed

    Drivers

    Language Packs

    etc...

Of course based in experience and users reviews...

and i think in the future bensam56 could integrate this list into R7lite (like nlite for winxp)

    but is a good start

  4. I think I understand!

No...he's not trying to integrate Office; he's saying that after installing Windows 7 from his RT7 Lite customized disc, he is not able to install Office...he has removed some crucial component for Office to install and is unsure what the prerequisites for Office are.

thats exactly my problem. and i have other problem i cant change the wallpaper the personalization panel gives only the solid colors as options... maybe something that i removed its causing this.

  5. i'm testing my builds in VirtualBox, and the office 2010 i install through DVD image loading inside the virtual box no command batch file...

I'm guessing you use an SFX file or Rar file!

Have you made an correct silent isntall one time for Office 2010?

myselfidem, i think you didnt understand my problem, i'm customizing a windows 7 build remove somethings and disabling others, and with my current settings i cant install office 2010 (full installation) i my build, office 2010 start installing but after some time the installation roll back and give a error message, but no code... and i'm trying to sort out which component or which service is essencial for office 2010 installation.

  6. hi, i have more questions besides those that I posted earlier.

with this current settings i cant install OFFICE 2010. i kept Japanese language ( as rt7lite says to keep) but even so i cant install the office... can someone tell me whats i removed wrong or disable?

How do you install Office 2010? What is your command batch file?

  8. i'm not sure if a found a bug, but i removed some games from list of features and the shortcut to them are still showing up in start menu see pic below:

    start_menu_games.jpg

and i disabled one service (Function Discovery Resource Publication) in rt7lite options, then installed my build and when windows start up it was running...

    - edit -

and other issue, i didn't remove the wallpapers, but i cant choose none of them in Personalization, i'm able to choose only solid colors... but default i get basic theme with the main wallpaper with windows logo.

    - edit 2 -

one possible new option to implement in rt7lite, if possible of course, remove links like this in the pic below. feature was removed and the link to file still there...

  9. Hi everyone, i'm used to create custom install from XP and now i'm playing with windows 7 and i have to say rt7lite is fantastic, but i have one problem, i googled and search inside the forum, but i couldnt find any clear answer for my question.

my installation run well till the first logon when i cant create or login with any account, there is only two blanck fields the "user"and "password" and i would like to let the option to create an account when the windows is finishing the setup but only this the rest should be Unattended. my setting "Skip user OOBE" is disabled.

    this is my current autounattended:

    please any advice?

  10. It is as far as I know only wasted space on the cd.

Interesting idea though and since I have cable net and a little bit of time right now I will download sp1a and sp2 and sp3 and do some iso size comparisons.

    OK here are the findings:

XP Gold iso size = 492 megs

    XP SP1a iso size = 507 megs

    XP SP2 iso size = 582 megs

    XP SP1a + SP2 iso size = 594 megs

    XP SP1a + SP2 + SP3 iso size = 624 megs

    XP SP3 iso size = 593 megs

Total wasted space with all 3 packs? = 31 megs

Total size gain from XP gold to SP3 = 101 megs

I was thinking some like that not so precise but close. I alredy have gold and xp sp2 (integrated w/o hotfix after sp2) and now i`m going to try this 2 versions to see the compatibility and stability with sp3.

  11. Ok. I got it about Gold Edition.

But about the best source to integrate SP3. Should I start with clean source (w/o hotfix) just with SP2?

And have little difference between Retal, OEM and Corporate and this difference can be important in integration process...

  12. Hi, maybe this is a stupid question, but i googled about it and didn`t find some information.

I just would like to know which version of XP use to integrate SP3 using nLite?

Retail? OEM? Corporate? Untouched? Gold Edition?

PS: Sorry i`m a brasilian guy my english isn`t good.
