I know this is a little late but I just had a similar problem where I couldn't see my documents folders in my computer. Go to this key and see if there are any strings with your user account name and the path to the correct my documents folder. If there isn't, just create a new string per user account. Oh yeah, you don't have to put the 's at the end of the name in the new string. The computer will do that for you. Ex. just put Tom instead of Tom's here's the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocFolderPaths
