  1. For some reason I can't uninstall nLite, I reinstalled it, restarted but it still doesn't let me uninstall it. Can somebody please tell me the right way to manually uninstall it? thanks
  2. It seems Multi-Av is using this. I'm wondering if there's a way to reinstall this without reinstalling windows and if not, what's the name of the component so I don't remove it while doing another slipstream? thanks
  3. ^^I had already found it but thanks, it's only the desktop icons which didn't automatically appear.
  4. edit: okay I got it to work but they only appear if I right-click and apply the change I don't feel like doing that for all of my exe icons...
  5. I have the same problem, it's the only mistake I made while doing the slipstream and I don't feel like restarting the whole process for that
  6. thanks a lot! if anybody wants to know how to customize http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/registry/29/
  7. basically I'd like to remove the crap at the left, anybody knows how?
  8. is it possible to revert to the old look of the "Open..." windows i.e., remove the left sidebar (my recent documents, desktop, my documents...) ?
  9. ^since when can media player classic stream movies in browsers? I got it installed but there's no plugins for it to my knowledge... I don't feel like reinstalling xp right now, is there a lot of advantages to use nlite instead of xplite? I like the fact that I can reinstall everything I remove with xplite though
  10. I can't get any of them to work properly I completely uninstalled media player (even 6.4) from xp pro with xplite and I can't stream media player content in opera with windows media lite 2.40 or wmlite10 2.1.0.3 at all... is it absolutely necessary to keep windows media player 6.4 to be able to do so? I'm able to stream with quicktime alternative 1.81 and qtlite 1.11, but they both crash if I access the options from my browser and they don't work at all to view apple's trailers... anybody uses those programs with no problems and can help me please? thanks!
  11. nevermind it turns out the only icon that is showing in 256 colors when color depth is at 16 bits is utorrent "Fix: Low color icon no longer displays when not running in 32-bit color, instead 256 color icon is used always"
  12. ok now I kinda know what the problem is, my color depth is set to 16 bits where's the value in the registry that I have to change to force xp to show system tray icons in 16 bits instead of 256 colors? stupid question: is there an advantage to run in 32 bits instead of 16 bits, because I've always runned win98 in 16 bits and I can't see a difference between 16 and 32 and doesn't 32 takes more ressources??
  13. hi! I've reinstalled xp pro removed a lot of crap with xp lite and customize with tweak ui and I just noticed that the icons are not showing in 32 bits in the system tray now I don't know if it's because of something I removed or tweaked or if it's a microsoft update that enabled to see them in 32 bits (I have sp1 and do not plan to update anything directly from microsoft) I know dr hoiby website has an explorer patch for older versions of windows but I can't find a patch or update for xp anybody can help? thanks
  14. 1) replacement tools: nope, they are designed (i suppose) to supplement the tools you already have. I guess the title of the update is misleading but you'll have to complain to Tihiy about that, i just include his update in the program 2) Tweak UI options: the shortcut overlay thing is due to one of the updates ... if you review the optional updates for the Critical & Recommended Updates module, you'll see that one of them has a side-effect of removing the option to remove shortcut arrows from shortcuts. I didn't know about the auto-logon disappearing as well, has anyone else noticed the same thing? ah well it's fine the add remove programs replacement tool is more useful than the original one about the automatic logon, an update changed my Primary Network Logon option to Microsoft Network instead of Windows Logon that was the problem thanks!
  15. quick question: are the replacement tools for "add remove programs" & "shutdown reboot logoff" supposed to actually replace the original ones? because for me they only work when I select them directly from system tools also it appears that some tweak ui options are not working anymore, the Shortcut overlay option and the Logon automatically option nothing major though
