How about other program's setup disc? ever try one?

Hey Doggie, I thought as a PC tech. in australia earns lot?? b'cos i ever went to Perth for study. The lecturer show us a newspaper that advertise lots of vacancies for sys admin, technician, db admin and etc... i think it is better then my country here. where i earn around US $200 a month.

Or u just Copy and Paste in to word pad or Word. u can save ur inks and make ur own guided references.

ever try to browse the cd? look for "setup" in the cd and double click on it. see whether that can help.

Not only ME, for Win98 also will have lots of funny problem. I've ever met one: win98 upgrade to winxp home. installed office xp then create new user, however the new user unable to use office xp. Only computer administrator got office xp.

However, although u got a SCSI 15Krpm on your high spec system, if u burn data to ur cd-rw or dvd-rw, it will slow down ur whole system. this is b'cos cd-rw and dvd-rw still using PATA and not SATA. A high speed HDD will get win xp and other programs to load faster. Regards, kenkueh

hmm, maybe u can go to d-link web site and have a look whether there is a firmware upgrade for ur switch. Besides that, check ur server2k3's event viewer whether there is something happened b4 the client's connection freezed.

You may just let copying proceed, only some files that located at that sectors will be unavailable or corrupted. The chances that a windows file located at that sectors will be 50-50. u may try.

For ghost, if ur hdd got bad sectors, it still can do cloning. Or u might need to try use ghost. Haven't try partition magic b4, so don't know how to makes things work.

U might need to gives us a copy of ur hotfixes.cmd for a look, u might add in a command that will delete the 'install' dir.

try to use ghost boot disk and clone by using "disk to disk".

XP SP2? Beta version?? From microsoft website, just announced SP2 only will be released around July or August. I haven't try out the beta version, so can't help u much.

Try to scan for virus, or boot into safe mode to see how is the cpu usage. If all this done, u might need to reinstall ur OS.
