  1. FINALLY found the obscure registry entry that relate to this.. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Options\DOC-PATH changed the value to \\tsclient\c and the error no longer appears.
  2. Have tested the floppy with an install CD that does not have an answer file and it works without a hitch. The problem must lie with the answer file...
  3. Any suggestions on a good process monitor?
  4. As the profile resides on a Windows 2003 server, deleting it is out of the question (the user is part of a domain etc). However, I just created a new user on the server and setup outlook in it and tried to replicate the problem. The problem does not appear. It seems somewhere in the registry (the area specific to that user) theres a entry storing the path that outlook uses (and other MS office programs i suspect).....
  5. Hello, My unattend Windows XP CD works fine other than when I use it in a computer that requires SATA controller drivers loaded from the floppy. I have done some research and it seems all I need to do is insert the floppy with the necessary drivers when the installation process begins. The strange thing is the installaton formats the hard disk (which shows the drivers seem to have loaded ok) but then stops and asks for the files on the floppy drive again even though the floppy is still in. Hitting enter causes the floppy drive to seek and then the message to appear again. I don't want to incorporate the drivers on the installation cd as I use the unattend cd on many different types of new and old computers and am happy creating a floppy and entering it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. My winnt.sif file as follows: ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=1 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" AutomaticUpdates=yes [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes NoWaitAfterTextMode=1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode=1 TargetPath=\WINDOWS DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore Repartition=Yes FileSystem=NTFS UnattendSwitch="yes" WaitForReboot="No" [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=255 OemSkipWelcome=1 [UserData] ProductKey=XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX FullName="User" OrgName="Organisation" ComputerName="Computer" [Display] BitsPerPel=32 Xresolution=1024 YResolution=768 Vrefresh=60 [TapiLocation] CountryCode=61 AreaCode=2 [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1 SystemLocale=00000c09 UserLocale=00000c09 InputLocale=0c09:00000409 [Identification] JoinWorkgroup=WORKGROUP [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes
  6. Hello, I have a Windows Vista laptop which I use to connect to Windows Server 2003 via remote desktop. While I am in the remote desktop connection I try to attach a file to an email in outlook and I get the following error message - "\\tsclient\c\documents and settings\user_name\my documents is not accesible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access is denied.". This error message won't go away and reders the remote desktop session useless however If I browse to \\tsclient I can access the local resources of the laptop without a problem. The problem seems to be that outlook (and other office applications) are looking for the documents and settings folder which does not exist in windows vista. I have tried to replicate the problem using a Windows XP based laptop and the problem does not appear (hence the reason why this post is in the Vista section. Any suggestions on fixing this problem? Thanks in advance.
