  1. Quick hit guys, I gleamed this info off a 4x4 BB of all places.. "Quote: Just found this on the Microsoft forums: IE Update 931768 is the culprit. Uninstalling that returns Outlook to normal." "Evidently a known issue for three weeks that they are working on. A work around was mentioned but have yet to find it. For now just going to axe 931768." "That was definitely the problem, remove it and it is fixed." "Also found a really peculiar workaround. If you are not ready to remove the update and stop it from installing until the fix is doen you can open Outlook, wait till it is ready and then left click on Outlook today (tab on the advanced toolbar). Then go back into mail and I'll be darned if it doesn't work. The root problem is supposed to be in rendering images and text or the like. Not sure what is going on but both of our machines are usable again!" I did the "Outlook Today" thing, and sho'nuff it worked! Weird. I'll just sit on my hands until MS comes up with a fix (if they ever do). Thanks everyone!
  2. Word was not set to be the default editor, I switched it on, and I got the same problems. Sorry, I consider myself a 'Power User', but I guess I'm a noob if I had never heard of AdPlus. I've just DL'ed it, I'll run it and post the resuls here. Thanks!
  3. Howdy all, Outlook has begun to hang whenever I view any e-mail that is not plain text. If it has any type of graphic or coding, it'll lock up Outlook for a solid 2 to 5 minutes, depending on the 'intensity' of the code. The rest of the OS is pretty much unscathed by Outlooks actions, switching from Outlook to another program does have a bit of delay, but after that the outside program works flawlessly. I've tried all the normal fixes, copying, renaming, and deleting the pst and ost files. Something interesting is that if I use 'Detect & Repair', all e-mails will view instantly, but as soon as I close & re-open Outlook, it's back to molasses. Any ideas guys? BTW, this is on my personal computer connecting to my ISP.
