Hi guys, I'm having a really bad problem when I install SP2 from scratch on one of my old systems. Here's what's happening when I do the install: All goes well until you get to the end of the install where you go through the initial tour of Windows XP Pro, so to speak, when the nifty music starts playing and stuff; anyway, right as that comes up the monitor starts telling me that there's no input and shuts off. IF I manage to get the monitor to come back on there are large lines of black pixels in splotches across the screen. IF I manage to somehow get past that and those lines the startmenu and any other feasible function on the desktop corrupts (with no error messages) and does more pixelated failures. I have tried two different monitors and have experienced this same problem. NOTE: System works FINE with SP1 version of Win XP Pro AND Win XP Home. In short: 1. Install Win XP Pro SP2. 2. Opening sequence comes up. 3. Monitor says "No input" and shuts off. 4. If I get past that: graphics are messed up. 5. Works FINE with Win XP Pro SP1 and Win XP Home SP1. Both monitors tried are VGA (I think); one is brand new by HP and the other is a year or so old and made by Sceptre. Please help. I need this computer so I can install my Visual Basic .NET 2003 for one of my classes. I am aware that this could be a compatability issue but what can I do to fix it?
