Well, I'm a bit stuck trying to fix my mother-in-laws computer. She lives out in the sticks and uses Netzero dial up to get online. The machine is fully patched. On or around the 17th of this month she calls me up and states that she can not get online. I have the laptop now its running XP home fully patched. I tried to do a system restore and its stating that it hasnt changed any files. I tried using different dates with no luck. I updated the modem drivers and reinstalled the netzero software with no luck. Thinking that the modem was fried I sent a fax from the laptop to my house and it worked like a champ. The following is a few things that I have noticed; I can not create a new network connection, I make it to the part where it asks you want type of connection it is and it freezes. I click next and it just sits there. Everything else runs fine. Also the netzero dialup conection is gone. The LAN connection is there but the netzero icon is gone. When I try to connect to netzero using the softaware I get a can not dial 0 error. My wifi card works just fine. I did a bit of searching and found KB articles 929338,917730, and 329441 but this didnt fix anything. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks RadarG
