  1. Hey, i have a Windows XP Professional desktop and i am sharing file 'x' on my network. The network is mostly accessed by my 2 other XP Home laptops.

I want to password protect access to my desktop on the home network, any idea how i can do that? I saw some guides in the Microsoft KB but i am new to all of this so i couldnt understand anything.

I am not using simple file sharing on my XP pro btw.

Thank you so much for your help.

  2. Theres only one thing i can recommend, make sure your system is not overheating or anything.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio laptop and it used to switch/power off randomly during applications/processes that required alot of power. A quick 3 day checkup at the dealer made everything run at top notch once again.

But then again its a laptop so i dont know about desktops.

  3. To be honest, i don't think vista is worth it anymore if people start to rip it up from its bundled services, don't bother to get vista if your computer can't support it.

For me, i went as far as getting an Alienware Area-51 ALX with my copy of Vista Ultimate, at least now i know im set for another 3-5 years.
